This Creepy Thriller
The director's contained scarefest remains effective despite the lack of a continuation. Located in the late 70s in Denver, a series of disappearances has rendered the children frightened. Yet the disconnected phone on the wall keeps ringing, with ghostly voices offering help, as the prophetic visions from his sibling Gwen might rescue him. An effective horror. Saturday 11 October, nighttime, the Film4 channel

It's a riot of poor styling, bad makeup and insincerity, yet Chastain succeeds to show Tammy Faye in a likable light. Next Tuesday, late night, the Film4 channel
